Book Reviews

It is full of simple classics you could make and wear forever, like a little black dress on the cover or a skirt suit. I am yet to make something from this pattern book, but I definitely think it will become a reference for me no matter how old I am.

I am so glad I happened upon your blog today! Japanese patterns are becoming a real passion for me — so it is really nice to find someone else who loves them too. These are fabulous!

I recently ordered a book on the art of Pojagi, a Korean quilting technique, published in Japan. The photos provide a reasonable guide which, despite the wording which is in Japanese no English subtitles , I can manage. I must admit, I stare and stare at the text, wishing I could unlock the language barrier to discover what tidbits of info I am missing.

I will most definitely consider these pattern books for my library. Hi Christine. Too frufru for me sometimes. I plan on making a quilt this summer and some shorts for my daughter. I might just have to download that book to get those shorts.

Lots to make! I hope to make an applique quit with summer flip flops as the design. I would love to make some clothes for my many loved ones with these new books. Gosh, my summer sewing to do list! I have high hopes of opening an etsy shop, along with making some quilts for christmas gifts and a few easy dresses for people that have had baby girls!

I have checked out some of these books from the library. They are always full of inspiration. My summer to do list is long, graduation t-shirt quilts is at the top of the list. Summer is really hard to sew much. I like the look of these books. I just picked up a similar fabric at my local fabric store — I was hoping to make something breezy for myself for the summer — these patterns might just be the ones! Thanks for sharing, looking forward to seeing what you create.

I do sew for the American Girl dolls. I love the classic look with a little extra charm of the patterns. I plan to make several more of the patterns. Ooh would love to win.

Book Review – Easy Sewing for Beginners

Like you just dipping my toes in making things for myself and my girls. Fingers crossed!!!

This summer I plan to sew some things for myself. I used to sew for my girls who are grown and on their own now. I miss sewing clothing and want to make some casual pieces. I would love to try some patterns from this book. And I want to try making a bright blue hoodie pullover for myself. I just got a serger but am lacking time to use it!

Sailor shorts for myself are on my summer to sew list.

Sundresses, skirts, and shorts for the summer for sure. I have recently been drawn to Japanese patterns….
